Education & Research

At SERELIS, every formula begins with questions.
How is this plant grown? How pure is the extraction?
What do traditional practices and modern studies say about its character, aroma, and skin compatibility?

We read, compare, and reflect — not to make clinical claims, but to make thoughtful choices.

Our work sits at the meeting point of three things:

  • Botanical tradition – how plants have been used in rituals, perfumery, and care across cultures

  • Modern literature – independent papers and technical reports on plant composition, stability, and safety

  • Sensory experience – how a blend smells, feels, and supports a moment of quiet at the end of the day

We use this knowledge to guide selection, not to promise results.
Our products are created for cosmetic and wellness rituals only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.

How we approach research

Before we welcome a new ingredient into our collection, we look at:

  • Its origin and growing conditions

  • The method of extraction and purity of the oil or extract

  • Available safety and stability information

  • Its sensory profile — how it behaves in a blend, on the skin, and in the air

When possible, we review multiple independent references from reputable sources.
This level of care isn’t required, but it feels essential to us.

Ingredient standards

You can learn more about our criteria in our
[Ingredient Standards] page, where we describe the questions we ask around:

  • Agricultural and sourcing standards

  • Extraction quality and clarity

  • Safety and compatibility

  • Ethical and environmental responsibility

Our intention is simple: to ensure that what touches your skin and breath has been chosen with restraint, respect, and transparency.

Product journals

For each of our core creations  we keep an internal journal of notes, references, and formulation decisions.

On this page, we share selected reflections:

  • how we shaped each scent story

  • why certain botanicals felt essential to a formula

  • what we considered in terms of texture, atmosphere, and ritual

These journals are not medical documents.
They are a window into our way of thinking: slow, careful, and always led by nature.

Looking ahead: a research blog in 2026

Beginning in 2026, we plan to publish a SERELIS blog —
a simple, elegant blog where we will share:

  • selected research papers we have reviewed

  • reflections on formulation

  • insights into plant-based materials

  • our philosophy around purity and natural sourcing

Not as medical authority, but as a transparent window into the knowledge that shapes our choices.

A gentle reminder

SERELIS exists to support sensory rituals — the quiet moments of applying oil, brushing hair, dimming the light, and softening into evening.

Our products are:

  • cosmetic and aromatic in nature

  • designed for pleasure, comfort, and personal ritual

  • created with respect for both tradition and current knowledge

They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and no part of this page should be read as medical advice.

Instead, we offer what we know best:
carefully selected botanicals, thoughtful formulation, and an honest glimpse into the research and reflection behind every bottle.
